Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce (or your favorite tomato sauce)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
- Olive oil, for cooking
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and dried oregano on both sides.
Cook the Chicken: In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the marinara sauce and stir to combine.
Add Cheese: Place the cooked chicken breasts back into the skillet, spooning some sauce over each piece. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over each chicken breast.
Bake: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve: Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves. Serve hot, perhaps with a side of pasta or a fresh salad.
